If you are what you eat, then you can be what you choose. As a Certified Gut Thrive Practitioner and Integrative Health Coach, it’s my goal to help my clients—and the world as a whole—understand the fundamental truth that what you choose to put on your plate will directly affect your physical health, your energy, and your mood.
When you’re putting foods into your body that don’t nourish and benefit your biological needs, you’re interfering with the way that you interact with others, move through your day, and pursue goals. Realistically, how can you perform at the top of your game if your brain and body are not receiving the nutrients required to function optimally? In fact, I have had many clients come to me stating that their health is actually affecting their performance on the job. They mentioned increased absences due to illness and/or decreased productivity due to a lack of focus and mental clarity.
Eating a more whole food-based diet with meals that are designed to stabilize your blood sugar is a great first step in any health journey! This alone will improve your sleep, increase your energy, and improve your mood rather immediately. I understand this can be a very challenging and confusing step for so many of us. As a society, we have been bombarded with fast food chains, prepackaged convenient “foods,” and sneaky sales tactics leading us to believe a product is healthy. We have, ultimately, been programmed to crave super sweet, salty, and greasy foods. Eating healthier is not complicated. Eat foods that come from nature. The hard part is reprogramming our tastebuds to once again enjoy those flavors of real food. This will take some patience, self-discipline, support, and consistency. It is possible and it is worth it!
It might seem like a foreign concept, but there is plenty of evidence to demonstrate that changing the food you put on your plate can quite literally change your life. If you struggle with creating and maintaining a balanced diet that makes you feel happy and healthy, let’s schedule a time to chat.
